Hayesville Middle School girls shut out Lady Bulldogs

Jasmine Brooks shut down the Murphy Middle School Lady Bulldogs, throwing a complete shutout and leading the Hayesville Middle School girls to a 15-0 victory on Tuesday, April 25.

The Lady Jackets got things moving in the first inning. Lillie McClure drew a walk, scoring one run. Later in the fourth inning, they scored six runs. The offensive firepower by the Lady Jackets was led by Lillie McClure, Danielle Anderson, Callie Long and Maddie Long, all knocking in runs in the fourth inning.

One highlight for the Lady Bulldogs was a single by Grace Moore in the second inning.

Jasmine Brooks was the winning pitcher for the Lady Jackets. The hurler allowed five hits and zero runs over the five innings, striking out nine and walking one.

Gracie Thrasher started the game for the Lady Bulldogs. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and 15 runs while striking out seven.

Hayesville Middle School girls tallied seven hits.  Brooks and Micalynn McClure both managed hits for the Lady Jackets. Brooks led the Lady Jacket girls with three hits in four at bats.

The Jackets stole 14 bases during the game and four players stole more than once. Micalynn McClure led the way with six.
