Overall, the Hayesville golf team had a great season. The Jackets had three golfers returning from the 2024 season: Connor Pullum, Peyton Owens and Wyatt James. We added three freshmen to our team: Ephraim Jones, Byron Engelmann and Wes Jennings. These guys improved all year and contributed a great deal, I look forward to seeing them develop over their careers.
They finished fifth as a team at the two-day Smoky Mountain Conference Tournament. Our total team score, which is four golfers playing two 18-hole rounds, was 849. Pullum, our only senior, was our No. 1 golfer during the tournament with a 36-hole score of 193, which qualified him for a spot in the 2025 NCHSAA Men’s 1A West Regional held at Northstone Country Club in Huntersville, N.C. Pullum played his best round of the year at the regional tournament, carding a 91 on a very difficult course.
