Monday, Nov. 20 the Hayesville Middle School Boys Basketball team took on the Cherokee Braves to start the holiday week.
It was a tough battle for both the Jacket boys and the Lady Jackets with both teams going into the holiday break with losses.
The boys started their game down 3-0 and struggled to gain traction against the Braves. Nearing half time the Jackets narrowed the Braves’ lead and ended the first half with a score of 27-20, Cherokee.
Halfway through the third quarter the Jackets continued to shorten Cherokee’s lead making the score 27-22. The Braves excelled to increase their lead and end the game up by 12 and a final score 40-28.
The Jackets were off for the Thanksgiving holiday but will host the Robbinsville Knights Monday, Nov. 27.
