The Hayesville Middle School Lady Jackets had a tough week with three games back-to-back-to-back. Unfortunately, the Lady Jackets were unable to come up with a win.

On Tuesday, March 19 the HMS Lady Jackets traveled to Swain to take on the Lady Maroon Devils. The Lady Jackets got a quick jump on the Lady Devils by scoring first with Micalynn McClure getting on base by a walk and MaKenna Moss driving her in on a great hit. That lead quickly dissolved when the maroon Devils came up to the plate knocking three runs in the first inning and did not let up the rest of the game. McClure was celebrated as she hit the first home run of the season. The final score 12-2, with Swain taking the win.

The Lady Jackets turned right around on Wednesday as they hosted the Franklin Lady Panthers. This battle on the field really showcased what the HMS Lady Jackets are capable of. The Lady Panthers got on the board first scoring, but the Lady Jackets came back strong by scoring 4 runs to the Panthers 3. McClure got things going by hitting a double to get on base for Lucy Trout to come to the plate with total confidence as she also hit a double driving in McClure. In the bottom of the second inning Candance King was patient at the plate earning a walk to get on base and McClure was at it again knocking in a 2-run home run. After that things got quiet for the Lady Jackets until the fourth inning when Bree Wade wore one for her team by getting hit by a pitch and getting on base for King and Trout to both get hits driving in Wade. On the flip side the Lady Jacket defense couldn't stop the Panthers on offense making the final 17-5 with the Lady Panthers taking the win.

On Thursday, March 21 the Lady Jackets wrapped up a tough week by hosting the Swain Lady Devils at home. The Lady Devils got a quick jump on the Lady Jackets scoring 5 to 1. That one run was scored by McClure when she got on base by hitting a triple and was brought home by Caroline Wade who hit a double. That run would be the only run in the game in a tough loss for the Lady Jackets, 17-1.

The HMS Lady Jackets will travel to HDR at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 28. Come out and support the HMS Lady Jackets.
