The Hayesville Middle School Lady Jackets basketball team started off the holiday week hosting Cherokee. The first half of the game was high scoring between the Jackets and Cherokee ending the first half 30-21 with the Jackets trailing.
The third quarter saw the Jackets struggle to catch up to Cherokee’s lead but ultimately falling short 54-32 for the final score.
Micalynn Mclure led the game in points scoring 10 of the 32 and also hitting 1 of two 3-point shots; Lucy Trout scoring the others.
Caroline Wade was next in the lead for points sinking 8. The Lady Jackets were off for the Thanksgiving holiday, but hosted Robbinsville Monday, Nov. 27.
