Hayesville’s Middle School track team qualified three athletes to the State Elite Invitational meet at Gaston Christian School in Gastonia on Saturday, May 7. The three competing Jackets were Blaire Hedden, Will Brown and Landon Trout.
Brown won the shot put and set a new Hayesville Middle School record throwing 43’ 4” .50. In addition, Brown captured a new State Invitational Meet Record.
Trout was also on the mark taking the win in the discus and setting a new State Invitational Meet Record with a toss of 143’ 6”. Trout also finished ninth in the shot put.
Hedden placed in two events, grabbing sixth place in the discus and eighth place in the shot put.
