HMS standouts strong in Cross Country Festival

    Hayesville Middle School Cross-Country standouts Eli Cheeks and Porter Hood competed at the N.C. Runners Middle School Cross-Country Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19. 

    The event took place at Ivey Redmon Sport Complex in Kernersville. They competed in the middle school boys championship race. The top middle school boys runners in the state competed in this race. 

    In the field of 145 runners, Cheeks finished 28 with a time of 11:45. Hood finished 61 with a time of 12:24.
