Jackets excel at state meet

    Hayesville’s Lady Jackets finished 12th in the State Track Meet held in Greensboro, N.C. last Saturday; the boys finished 25th.

    There were 23 performances which met the MileSplit U.S. Second Team standard, including Jake McTaggart who had an ‘Elite Performance’ finishing third  in the discus; he also took fifth in shot put.

    Taylor McClure placed 10th in the shot put.

    Emma Shook finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and third in 300-meter hurdles.

    Lilly Trout had an outstanding throw grabbing third in shot put.

    In the 4x800 Relay: the Lady Jackets took sixth place and eighth place in the 4x400 relay. Team members included in both relay races were Emma Shook, Lila Roberts, Marley Espinal and Alyssa Rodd.
