Hayesville’s JV girls basketball team outscored Robbinsville in three of four quarters Friday, but lost 33-27 due to a slow start.
A 13-5 first quarter provided the foundation for the win. The Lady Yellow Jackets outscored the hosts 22-20 the rest of the way, but time ran out before Hayesville could complete the comeback.
Kayla Brown, who scored 4 of Hayesville’s 6 second-quarter points, led her team with nine markers. Kadence Morrow tallied seven.
The Lady Jacket attack Olivia Free with three, Danielle Anderson two, Lilly Dockery two, Aaliyah Jackson two and Ava Moore two.
Hayesville’s JVs played at Hiwassee Dam on Tuesday.
