    The Hayesville JV girls began their season in convincing fashion by blitzing Swain County, 33-14, in The Hive Friday.

    “We came out really strong,” Coach Meghan McQuade stated. “I was proud of their effort. They really gave it all they had, all the time, every play.”

    The Yellow Jackets led every step of the way: 8-4 after one quarter, 16-9 at the intermission and 23-11 entering the fourth act.

    Hayesville’s balanced attack was led by Ava Moore’s 10 points.

    Kadence Morrow scored 6; Aaliyah Jackson 5; Danielle Anderson 4; Lilly Dockery 3; Kylah Eller 2 and Kayla Brown 1.

    Hayesville shot for its second victory Tuesday against visiting Cherokee.

    “This definitely shoots their confidence up and leads us into the Cherokee game,” McQuade said.
