It was a tough week for Hayesville’s JV volleyball squad. The Lady Jackets were on the road Tuesday, Oct.1 when they dropped a match to Robbinsville 2-0. The road woes continued Thursday, Oct. 3 when the Lady Tigers of Rosman defended their home court with a 2-0 win over Hayesville.

The two teams seemed equally matched when the Lady Jackets invaded Robbinsville. Late in the opening set, Hayesville was within striking distance but the Lady Knights grabbed the match-advantage with a 25-21 set-win. Set two was a nail-biter as both teams inched closer to the 25 points needed. The Lady Jackets forced extra play but came out on the losing end of a 26-24 score.

Set one in Rosman was a competative one but the Lady Jackets simply could not hang on to the momentum and dropped the set 25-20. In set two, the Lady Tigers took control and kept Hayesville from having a real shot at a comeback. Rosman won the set 25-18 victory.

Hayesville will try to get back in the win column Thursday, Oct. 10 when they host Hiwassee Dam at 5 p.m.
