Hayesville’s JV volleyball team had one of its toughest tests of the season Thursday, Sept. 26 when Murphy invaded The Hive. The Lady Jackets defended their home court with a 2-0 sweep of the Lady Bulldogs. Hayesville then hosted the Lady Panthers Monday, Sept. 30 for a non-conference showdown. Once again the Lady Jackets prevailed with a 2-0 victory.
When rival teams battle, anything can happen. With that in mind, Hayesville wanted to take no chances once they sniffed out an advantage. The Lady Jackets’ 25-17 win in set one gave them a 1-0 match-lead. Set two was almost a carbon copy with Hayesville putting the Lady Bulldogs away 25-16.
Against Union County, the Lady Jackets simply took care of business. Hayesville set the tone with a 25-12 win in set two. That was followed up with a 25-11 win in set two to end the match.
Hayesville heads to Rosman Thursday, Oct. 3 and then to Swain County Tuesday. Oct. 8. Fans can expect a 5 p.m. start time for both matches.
