Six Yellow Jackets scored during a 20-point third quarter that propelled the Hayesville JV boys from a 1-point halftime lead to a 49-40 victory over visiting Hiwassee Dam on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
“It was a great win coming off a long break. We knocked some rust off heading into a long conference stretch,” said Coach Josh Cottrell. “It was just a hard-fought team win.”
Damien Soto led a balanced attack that featured three double-digit scorers. Soto put up 13, Kabe Shaheen added 11 and Micah Moss contributed 10.
E.J. Mapusua kicked in 7 points. Carter Whitfield and Wes Jennings scored 4 apiece.
