JVs struggle in loss to the Devils

    The  JV Jackets suffered a 28-8 loss to Swain on Thursday, Sept. 12 in the Hive.

     The Jackets finished the first half in the lead with a close score of 8-6, but could not contain the 

    “I believe this team is heading in the right direction after Thursday night’s game,” said coach Blake McClure. “After seeing the heart and pride that we played with I believe we can stand up against anyone in the Smoky Mountain Conference.” 

    The field was visibly tense, both teams fought hard and gave their all, but lacked spark. 

    Jonathan Godinez, No. 71, had eight tackles; E.J. Mapasua, No.78, had six tackles and Cj.J. Finn, No.6, had one reception for three yards and a 2-point conversion. 

    The JV Jackets play in Cherokee the Hive at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.
