For the second consecutive game, Kolbe Ashe provided timely heroics in a Young Harris men’s basketball victory.
One game after swishing the game-winning shot against King, Ashe nailed a free throw with :18 left in regulation to tie West Greenville and force an overtime. Young Harris prevailed 77-74.
Ashe, a starting guard, scored 5 points, handed out three assists and made two steals in 35 minutes of work last Wednesday as Young Harris improved to 10-8 and 5-4 in Conference Carolinas.
Ashe was also one of the Mountain Lions’ leaders Saturday in an 88-79 loss to Chowan at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
Ashe and his teammates return to action against Pfeiffer at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25.
