Aaliyah Jackson sizzled for 12 points with just one misfire in the first quarter and added a dozen markers in the third as Hayesville routed Blue Ridge Early College 70-31 last Friday.
The outcome was determined shortly after tipoff.
The Lady Jackets began the game with a 17-0 run fueled by a three-pointer and two fast-break layups with Ava Shook adding a pair of treys and a lay-in after she swiped the ball.
Hayesville finished the first quarter on top 26-4 and kept the fire stoked with significant contributions from nearly every Lady Jacket.
The second quarter saw Shook swipe the ball 3 times, Lucy Trout tally 7 points and Brooks and Briley Clampitt each snaring 4 rebounds.
Hayesville extended the bankroll to 40-12 by rifling in 12-of-16 from the field, forcing 13 turnovers and making just 3 errors.
The third period saw Jackson rip 4 treys and collect 3 rebounds while Caroline Wade came off the bench with frenzied play that produced 3 hustle rebounds, 2 assists and 4 points. Olivia Free, who had 4 points and 3 steals in the opening quarter, added 2 points, 2 rebounds and a blocked shot in the final eight stanza.
Every Lady Jacket contributed, even those who didn’t play big minutes.
Alley Gaddis had 3 points and 2 boards, Micalynn McClure contributed 2 boards and 2 points and Kayla Brown added 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
