Lily Trout breaks Hayesville High School discus record

    On Saturday, May 11 — 27 athletes traveled to Montreat College to compete in the 1A West Regional Meet. Overall, the boys finished fifth and the girls finished ninth. Standout performances are as follows:

    • Lily Trout breaks the HHS discus record with a throw of 115’.

    • Taylor McClure - second, shot put and fifth discus.

    • Will Brown - fifth shot put.

    • Lily Trout - second discus, eighth shot put.

    • Landon Trout - fourth discus

    • Ella Matheson - third triple jump and second high jump

    • Ava Shook - seventh high jump and 400m

    • Girls 4x800 - sixth - Savannah Burch,Raelynn Wood,Skylar Lockaby and Sydney Greenstone

    • Boys 4x800 - eighth - Jackson Dye, Landon Hughes, Noah Carter and Cannon Brewer

    • Jacob Jones - fifth 110m hurdles and third 300m hurdles

    • Boys 4x200 - fourth - Kenyon Rogers, Isaac Chandler, Elio Murillo and Seth Leek

    • Noah Carter - eighth 1600m and sixth 3200m

    • Boys 4x100 - fifth - Isaac Chandler, Tre Graves, Kenyon Rogers and Seth Leek

    • Keynon Rogers-Gibby - seventh 200m

    • Sydney Greenstone - seventh 3200m

    • Girls 4x400 - eighth - Savannah Burch, Briley Clampitt, Skylar Lockaby and Ava Shook

    • Boys 4x400 - eighth-Logan Cummins, Isaac Chandler, Cannon Brewer and Seth Leek

    State Championship Qualifiers:
