This week the Jackets had vigorous match-ups with the Franklin Panthers on Tuesday, March 28 and Swain County Maroon Devils on Friday, March 31.

Tuesday was a rough day for HMS baseball. The Jackets played a very veteran Franklin team and came up short in the fifth. Robbie Barter had a great hit in the first inning that resulted in a single and Brady Reynolds hitting a single in the fourth inning. Unfortunately, the Jackets were unable to get players on base and score throughout the game. The final of Tuesday's game against Franklin was 10-0. Reynolds 3IP, 2K, 4H, 3BB and Barter 1IP, 0K, 1H, 7BB, Cheeks 1IP, 0K, 1H, 3BB.

The Jackets took to the road in an away game in Swain County. Rhett Sellers started the Jackets off strong with a single to get on base. Barter came up in the order with a single, scoring 2 runs for the Jackets giving them the early lead. Unfortunately, the Jackets defense was unable to hold off Swain’s big bats. A tough week means big comebacks for the future. The Jackets take on Hiwassee Dam/Ranger in Hiwassee Dam on Tuesday, April 4 and then are back home facing Hiwassee Dam/Ranger on Thursday April, 6. Both games begin at 4 p.m.

Come out and cheer on our Yellow Jackets.
