Moore is more as jayvees roar

    Ava Moore tallied 14 points as the Hayesville junior varsity girls opened the season on the right foot with a 36-22 defeat of Towns County on the Indians hardwood Friday.

    Moore led a balanced attack that included 8 points apiece from Danielle Anderson and Micalynn McClure, 4 points from Olivia Free and a bucket by Aaliyah Jackson.

    The Lady Jackets also played strong defense, forcing many of the 25 turnovers the Indians committed. That’s 12 less errors than Hayesville made.

    “The girls played hard, they worked together as a team and they showed lots of determination out there on the court,” Hayesville JV Coach Meghan Taylor remarked. “I’m really excited about our season.”

    Hayesville took Monday night off since Hiwassee Dam didn’t have a JV girls team.
