On Monday April 1 the Hayesville Middle School track teams competed at home against Swain, Robbinsville, Hiwassee Dam/Ranger and Bethel Christian Academy. Both the womens and mens HMS teams placed first in the home meet with records set in the women’s 4x400 relay and the men’s shot put. Previously the women’s 4x400 relay team broke the HMS record and then broke their own record in this meet with a time of 04:47.2. That relay team members include Marleigh Lowe, Emily Dowloing, Libbie Moore and Micalynn McClure. E.J. Mapasua broke the HMS record for shot put with a mark of 44-03.00. The HMS track teams travel to Robbinsville on Monday, April 15 and then they compete in the championship meet in Cherokee on Monday April 22. Come out and support the Yellow Jackets, meets begin at 3:30 p.m.
