Mountain Lakes Pickleball hosted a Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Clay County Sports Complex. MLP players were joined by others from the surrounding area for a fun day of pickleball. Players and spectators layered up for the cool, breezy morning of competition as court wind socks rose and settled throughout the event.
Players made donations in lieu of entry fees for the tournament. All funds raised will be used for the purchase of an AED (automated external defibrillator) for the outdoor court area. The club thanks other spectators who also contributed.
The tourney was a random partner, round-robin format with each player competing in six games.
After the completion of play and the recognition of winners, a raffle was held with prizes for all participants. Players, family and friends then enjoyed a really special Thanksgiving potluck lunch.
Our group wishes everyone a very special Thanksgiving.
