The Hayesville Middle School Cross Country season came to an end on Saturday, Oct. 14. The Smoky Mountain Conference Championship meet was held at Swain's sacred home course at Kituwah Mound.
The Jackets capped a strong season with a SMC Conference runners up finish. The team was led by Micah Moss's 7th place, All Conference finish and a time of 12:08. Rounding out the seven team roster were:
• Eli Cheeks, 11th place - All Conference Honorable Mention with a time of 12:30
• Porter Hood, 12th place - All Conference Honorable Mention with a time of 12:31
• Bronc Woody, 13th place - All Conference Honorable Mention with a time of 12:36
• Rhett Sellers, 21st Place - with a time of 13:01
• Garrison Boyer, 25th place, with a time of 13:13
• Evan Burks, 32nd place, with a time of 13:57
The HMS girls team had a strong performance and a 4th place finish. The team was led by Makenna Moss's 2nd place, All Conference finish with a time of 13:22. Rounding out the seven team roster were:
• Marlo Joyce, 10th place - All Conference Honorable Mention with a time of 14:56
• Annie Godfrey, 16th place - with a time of 15:15
• Shelby Scarborough, 23rd place - with a time of 16:13
• Lily Gordon, 26th place - with a time of 16:48
• Ellie Black, 29th place, with a time of 17:43
