The Hayesville girls soccer team broke into the win column by avenging a season-opening loss to Blue Ridge Early College last Monday.
The Lady Yellow Jackets held the upper foot this time, as junior Reese Segars kicked two goals and freshman Lucy Godinez Diaz made 19 steals to spark a 2-0 victory over BREC last Monday in Hayesville.
Hayesville sought its second win Tuesday against visiting Highlands. The Lady Jackets came close Monday, but lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to Andrews.
The Lady Jackets, 1-8, host Summit Charter at 4 p.m. Thursday.
