Stewart takes first place in first flight season opener

The Chatuge Shores Ladies Golf Association season opener was played on Tuesday, May 3 on a stunning spring day. The league celebrated the opening day of play with post round grilled hot dogs, grilled by our expert grill master Glenda Geddings. Lunch was enjoyed and everyone is looking forward to a fun and relaxed season of golf.

The game was Forget the Fives, which uses the scores from all holes except the Par 5 holes. Results for the first flight, gross score were first place Kathy Stewart and second place Glenda Geddings. First flight, net score winners were Mary Mott in first place and Martha Zimmer in second place. Results for the second flight, gross score were first place Sandy Snyder and second place Linda Robinson. Second flight net score winners were Martha Barker in first place and Vicky Healy in second.

Lowest Putts went to Linda Robinson with 35 putts and four ladies came in second lowest putts with 36 putts: Martha Zimmer, Cathy Clement, Martha Barker and Bonnie Shore. The only birdie of the day was scored by Pam Herrick on hole No. 4. Kathy Stewart shot an impressive 75 with birdies on 1, 9 and 16.

The league congratulates all winners and encourages new and seasoned golfers to come on out to join the play.

CSLGA plays every Tuesday at Chatuge Shores Golf Course 260 Golf Course Road. Tee time is 9 a.m. The league has 24 members from throughout the tri-county area and includes golfers of all skill levels.
