Young Harris College men's soccer player Quinn Thompson has been named the Peach Belt Conference Defender of the Week ending Sept. 12.
Thompson helped the No. 20-ranked Mountain Lion defense to a pair of wins last week, adding three assists on the offensive end. The freshman from Hull, England, had two assists - including on the game-winning goal - against Lincoln Memorial University, helping hold the Railsplitters to just nine total shots in the game and allowing only one corner kick. He added another assist on YHC's first goal in a 3-1 win over Limestone University, holding the Saints to seven total shots and allowing only the one goal against on a penalty kick.
Thompson leads the PBC with five assists on the year and YHC leads the PBC in goals-against average (1.00).
Young Harris hosts No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne University Wednesday (Sept. 15) at 7 p.m. at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
