Payne and Barter are top anglers
Jeremy Payne shows off some of the catch that earned him the top spot in the bass tournament. Zeke Payne came in second place in the youth division.
Jeremy Payne took first place in the Hiawassee River Bass Club July tournament held on Lake Nottley. Josh Cook came in second and earned the big fish honors with a 5.55 pound largemouth bass.
Here's how the top anglers fared overall:
First place - Jeremy Payne - five fish - 13.25 pounds.
Second place - Josh Cook - five fish - 11.70 pounds.
Third place - Mike Cook - five fish - 10.21 pounds.
Fourth place - Randy Cook - five fish - 9.41 pounds.
Fifth place - Luke Morrow - five fish - 8.70 pounds.
Sixth place - Tommy Nichols - five fish - 8.46 pounds.
In the Youth Division, Robbie Barter came in first and earned the big fish honor with a 1.89-pound spot.
First place - Robbie Barter - four fish - 5.96 pounds.
Second place - Zeke Payne - three fish - 2.97 pounds.
Third place - Landon Cheeks - one fish - .99 pounds.
