Trio named to PBC Team of Academic Distinction

 Michael BuiceTucker Daniel and Chase Webb from Young Harris College has been named to the Peach Belt Conference Team of Academic Distinction for baseball.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of his team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and completed at least one full academic year at his current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.

Michael Buice

  • Buice is a right-handed pitcher from Marietta, Georgia.
  • Buice has a 3.34 cumulative grade-point average as a business and public policy major.
  • He made five appearances for the Mountain Lions in 2021. In 7.1 innings pitched, he had a 0-0 won-loss record with a 0.00 earned-run average. He only allowed six hits and struck out seven, while allowing opponents to hit just .222.


Tucker Daniel

  • Daniel is a right-handed pitcher from Cumming, Georgia.
  • Daniel has a 3.36 cumulative GPA as a management major.
  • Daniel made 12 appearances for Young Harris in 2021 with one start. In 12.1 innings pitched, he had an 0-2 won-loss record with six strikeouts.


Chase Webb

  • Webb is a right-handed pitcher from Randleman, North Carolina.
  • Webb has a 3.75 cumulative grade-point average as a biology major.
  • Webb went 1-1 in 2021 in nine appearances (one start) for the Mountain Lions. In 19.1 innings pitched, he recorded 18 strikeouts.
  • He earned his win with four innings in relief as the Mountain Lions defeated Georgia Southwestern State University (2/20/21) 6-5.
