No. 1 Flagler College scored four unanswered goals as they recorded a 4-0 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer win over Young Harris College Saturday (Sept. 25) afternoon at Saints Field.
The Mountain Lions slip to 3-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the Peach Belt, while the Saints improve to 5-0-0 and 2-0-0. Young Harris returns to the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Wednesday (Sept. 29) evening in a 5 p.m. match against No. 10 Columbus State University.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Flagler took a 1-0 lead with just over six minutes in the first half on a goal scored by Andrea Fernandez that was shot into the high-center of the net and assisted by Annie Habeeb.
- Aimee Durn and Thea Juul both had one shot on goal for the Mountain Lions.
- Pien Van Kampen registered eight saves in goal.
- At the 25:35 mark, the Saints scored their second goal of the match off a penalty kick taken by Jess Leach.
- Flagler scored their third goal on a shot by Lorena Lopez and assisted by Fernandez.
