N.C. congressman wants school choice for students facing mask mandates, CRT

A Republican congressman from North Carolina would expand school choice for students across the nation facing mask mandates or classroom instruction based on Critical Race Theory. U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop, R-9th District, introduced this week the Mask Off Act and the No Corrupt Racist Training Act.

Eight North Carolina Schools Named 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona today recognized 325 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2021, including eight schools in North Carolina. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

Georgia Unemployment Rate Drops for 16th Straight Month to 3.5%

Governor Brian P. Kemp applauded Georgia's unemployment rate dropping for the sixteenth straight month to 3.5% for August 2021, down from 3.7% in July. "Georgians are getting back to work and our economy continues to beat expectations," said Governor Brian P. Kemp.
