Eight North Carolina Schools Named 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona today recognized 325 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2021, including eight schools in North Carolina. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

Georgia Unemployment Rate Drops for 16th Straight Month to 3.5%

Governor Brian P. Kemp applauded Georgia's unemployment rate dropping for the sixteenth straight month to 3.5% for August 2021, down from 3.7% in July. "Georgians are getting back to work and our economy continues to beat expectations," said Governor Brian P. Kemp.

Redistricting public hearings held across the state

The N.C. General Assembly kicked off a month-long series of 13 public redistricting hearings held across the state. State legislative and congressional districts are redrawn every ten years using new data from the U.S. Census report.
