Local baseball team sweeps tournament

    A team made up of young athletes from Hayesville and Towns County brought home the championship after an undefeated performance at the RBI Tournament in Powder Springs, Ga. The team played three games during the tournament and completed the sweep with three victories. In the championship game, the boys faced the Spaulding All-Stars and earned an exciting 7-6 win to secure the tournament title. Team members included Colt Allen, Grady Lovingood, Boyd Burch, Nate Evans, Declan Woody, Greyson Gutierrez, Collier Stroud, Tate Ledford, Elias Kitchens, Eli Norris and Baylor Nuckolls. The championship team was coached by Colton Stroud, Kyle Woody, Bradley Nuckolls and Corey Cox. The tournament victory highlighted the talent, teamwork and determination of the Hayesville and Towns County players as they worked together to finish the weekend undefeated.
