YHC bomb threat an apparent hoax

A morning bomb threat canceled classes for Young Harris College students on Monday, Oct. 5. The anonymous bomb threat was made to the Rollins Campus Center, known as the RCC at the four year college. At 8:52 a.m.

The Hayesville High School 2019-20 athletic season ended abruptly in the spring when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down all athletic activities. While things didn’t end the way everyone had hoped, Hayesville was able to focus on a positive thanks to winning the Wells Fargo championship.

Economic incentives approved

Commissioners approved an economic development incentive program that will provide property tax rebates for new and expanding businesses based on the number of employees and amount of investment in Clay County. The board on Oct.

Drive-thru Halloween event slated

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has established a community service for local youth called Cops for Kids, according to a press release from Sheriff Bobby Deese. One of its first events will launch Halloween night.
