The following warrants were issued through the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for March 9-15. All individuals are considered innocent unless proven otherwise in court. • Barry Richard Grathwhol, 61, of Hiawassee, Ga., driving while impaired. Released on March 12.

Buchanan cruises back into the sheriff’s role

By Becky Long Publisher   There’s no need to remove his name from the county stationary, Mark Buchanan will serve as sheriff for the next four years. In the 2022 primary, Buchanan won by a large  margin against opponent and fellow Republicans, Joe Shook and candidate George Elver.
