Man killed in accident

By Randy Foster Cherokee Scout   A Young Harris, Ga. man was killed in a single-vehicle crash off of N.C. 141 on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 22. Ronnie Massey, 51, was found dead at the scene. It is believed he may have fallen asleep at the wheel. The crash was reported about 10 a.m. at N.C.

New year brings in new laws in North Carolina

Towns Co. deputy shot in traffic stop

Staff Report   The ballot recount in the NC Supreme Court Associate Justice race between Republican candidate Jefferson G. Griffin and Democratic Party candidate Allison Riggs has yet to be finalized.
