Senior Games ambassadors named

Congratulations are in order to Linda May of Murphy, Michael Kelischek, of Brasstown and Bill Battle, of Hayesville, who have been selected by Clay/Cherokee Senior Games & SilverArts to serve in our communities as North Carolina Senior Games Ambassadors.

Ambassadors are an elite group of individuals in N.C. who have committed themselves to encouraging others in their community and across our state to stay healthy and live better longer through participation in Senior Games programs. Ambassadors assist in recruiting participants and promoting Senior Games. Ambassadors receive state-level training in public relations, marketing and Senior Games information.

Clay/Cherokee Senior Games & SilverArts is one of 54 sanctioned programs serving all 100 North Carolina counties. North Carolina Senior Games are the statewide Senior Olympics program that motivates participants to stay active and healthy. Senior Games offers over 70 athletic and arts events. Senior Games’ approach to wellness is designed to challenge individuals at their own levels. Programs that are available through North Carolina Senior Games include: SilverArts, celebrating the creative talents of North Carolina's senior artists and Sports, including individual, doubles and team competition.

North Carolina Senior Games is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing year-round health promotion and education for adults 50 years of age and better. It is sponsored statewide by the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services.
