Misty Mountain Quilt Guild spread joy to nursing homes

Last week, the Heart 2 Heart Outreach Group, part of the Misty Mountain Quilters Guild, donated more than 200 handmade items to nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the five-county area including Clay.

Joe Slaton Takes Over Mayor’s Post, Names Harry Baughn Mayor Pro-Tem

The torch was passed at Town Hall Monday evening when former Councilman Joe Slaton took the oath of office as Hayesville’s new mayor. One of his first official acts was to propose former Mayor Harry Baughn be designated mayor pro-tem and the council agreed.
