Clever Household Tricks

I’m usually making fun of the tips I find in the do-it-yourself magazines. I think they run out of clever ideas and then just make strange ideas up for fun. But recently I hauled out a stack of old magazines (pre-spring cleaning), and actually found some handy things. Here they are.

Winter Coloring Contest at Moss Memorial Library

Cherokee County man faces DWI charge at school

A Cherokee County man is facing charges of DWI, reckless driving and damage to property in an incident at Andrews Elementary School. Carroll Edward Mathis was transported from the school by Andrews police on Dec. 2, after officers responded to a 911 call of a possible impaired driver.

Black ice is a thin clear ice on roadways, parking lots and or sidewalks. Because of its transparent appearance, it can be very dangerous and hard to avoid. It typically forms during early morning hours or late evenings.

Hope at Christmas

Meeting Santa at Christmas is exciting for most children, but for five-year-old Levi Robertson, meeting Santa is extra special. A few years ago, Seth and Jill Robertson did not know if their son would have another Christmas. At only nine months old, Levi was diagnosed with leukemia.

Lady Jackets fall to Murphy’s pressure

Hayesville’s Varsity Lady Jackets fell to the Lady Bulldogs 67-37 on Friday, Dec.17, in Murphy. The first quarter started out with close play, although the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Jackets 13-9. Both offensive and defensive squads were playing their positions for tight play.
