Middle school cross country competes in SMC championship

By Hilary Goodrich Black Guest Writer   The Hayesville Middle School Boys and Girls Cross-Country Teams competed in the Smoky Mountain Conference Championship at Swain County on Saturday, Oct. 12.  The cool, crisp air combined with a flat course resulted in speedy times for both teams.

Jackets seek return to normal against Swain

By Gary Corsair Sports Writer   The Hayesville Yellow Jackets hope for sweet varsity football dreams after suffering a full-blown nightmare last week against Murphy. “As far as Murphy game goes, they dominated us in all phases of the game,” Hayesville Coach Chad McClure said.

Courageous Jackets come close to first win

By Gary Corsair Senior Sports Writer   Shame on anyone who thinks Hayesville lost to Georgia Force Christian because the Yellow Jackets failed to score on a two-point conversion try late in the fourth quarter at Frank R. Long Memorial Stadium Friday.
