Hayesville JVs squeeze out win

HMS cross country strong in first meet

By Hilary Goodrich Black Guest Writer   Another Hayesville Cross County season is underway. The first meet of the season was held at the Clay County Recreation Park. The middle school boys raced first finishing in second with strong finishes by Eli Cheeks in fifth and Porter Hood in sixth.

Cross country has strong showing in first meet

Article Submitted   Hayesville High School hosted the first Smoky Mountain Conference cross country meet of the year last Wednesday, Aug 21. Between middle school and high school teams there were 16 teams in attendance.

Yellow Jackets drop season opener 49-7

By Leeanna Alberta Sports Writer   Hayesville took a hard fall to Asheville School 49-7 at the Hive on Friday night. Despite the score, there were a few positives in the game. “We knew going in they would be hard to stop offensively,” Hayesville Coach Chad McClure said.

Lady Jacket volleyball from fifth grade to seniors

Volleyball teammates have played together since fifth grade. The picture on the left was made of their first volleyball game in the fifth grade. The second is a re-creation of the original picture of their senior year with the exception of Cadence Wood replaced by Ella Matheson.

Hayesville had best player, top pitcher and No. 1 coach

By Gary Corsair Sports Writer   Smoky Mountain Conference baseball coaches validated Hayesville’s reputation as the best hardball team in the SMC by naming nine Yellow Jackets All-Conference.

Hayesville High track team competes in state championship

By Amy Trout Guest Writer   The NCHSAA 1A State Championship Track Meet was held on Monday, May 20 after a rain cancellation on Friday the 17. Nine members of the Hayesville High School track team were eligible to compete.
