Graves sizzles in 55-14 pre-playoff rout

By Gary Corsair Sports Writer   Tre Graves impersonated Barry Sanders on Halloween and played 334 yards and four touchdowns worth of tricks on Andrews in one of the most impressive displays of rushing ever seen around these parts.

Hayesville expects better behavior and a win

By Gary Corsair Senior Sports Writer   A regular season that began with great promise should end with promise fulfilled Friday night when Hayesville’s 5-4 varsity football team hosts 1-8 Andrews.

Information Submitted   Hayesville High School and Middle School competed at the Swain County meet held on Sept. 17. Hayesville’s High School girls team took second place in the 5000 meter team score, with the boys grabbing third place.

Tri-County hosts Jack Wimpey Memorial race

By Cannon Crompton sports@cherokeescout.com   Racing fans were treated to two days of races with a demolition derby wrapping it all up. The weekend was dedicated to late track owner Jack Wimpey. Race fans came to Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown on Saturday and Sunday for two days of driving.
