Graduating seniors will trade in their shorts and T-shirts for caps and gowns on Saturday, May 25 when they receive diplomas in a ceremony at the football field. In case of rain, the venue will move to the gymnasium.

HHS to bid farewell to Class of 2024

By Lorrie Ross Staff Writer   By the time the Hayesville High School class of 2024 crosses the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, the afternoon rains should have passed from Frank R. Long Memorial Stadium. Even if a little wet stuff falls, this class has dealt with adversity before.

Veterans to assist in paver project

Representatives working on the Veterans Memorial Park in Hayesville will be on hand Friday, May 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Clay County courthouse lobby to assist with selling pavers — personalized bricks honoring veterans. The pavers will be part of the Memorial Park site.

Weatherman, Boliek win GOP second primary

By Becky Long Publisher   Tuesday’s runoff in the Republican Primary generated a modest turnout on the local and state levels compared to the March election. However, it did resolve who will represent the GOP on the November ballot for lieutenant governor and state auditor.

Council sets hearing on budget
