Hippity, hoppity Easter’s on its way

Last year’s egg hunt at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown drew a crowd of children and this year’s is expected to be no exception. The egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 30 in the Festival Barn and features a variety of events. Arrive at 1 p.m. for craft making or 1:30 p.m.

$2.5 million federal funding will pay for EMS facility

Staff Report   Clay County received good news this week when they learned from U.S. Rep. Chuck Edwards that Clay County will receive a portion of  the $18.7 million that passed the House and Senate for targeted community projects in North Carolina’s 11th district.

By Lorraine Bennett Staff Writer   Hayesville’s new Electric Vehicle charging station is in place behind Town Hall and could become operational this week. The Hayesville Town Council learned at Monday’s regular meeting that the station is installed and wired.

  By Deby Jo Ferguson Staff Writer   Audrey Shelton, 76, is the daughter of Thomas and Christine Chance Roach. She was born Sept. 2, 1947, married Larry Shelton in 1971 and he passed away in 2019. They had two children, Candy and Clancy, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
