Veterans: Greater love hath no man

By Becky Long Publisher   On Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day was marked with a ceremony featuring keynote speaker and National Executive Committee member, David Shore who underscored the importance of service to country. He also honored World War II unsung heroes, the Navajo Code Talkers.

Tuesday brings general election

By Becky Long Publisher   Early voting winds down at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. While voting numbers are steady, they are on pace with the 2018 mid-terms, according to Elections Board Director Rebecca Hall. As of 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, 2,113 voters had cast ballots.

Sheriff’s team pulls plane for N.C. Special Olympics

By Lorrie Ross Staff Writer   Five of Clay County’s finest traveled to Raleigh this past weekend — all for the chance to use their hands to pull a 40,000 pound airplane, while raising money for North Carolina’s Special Olympics.
