Brisk pace for early voting

By Becky Long Publisher   Clay County Board of Elections is experiencing a steady flow in early voting. As of 12 p.m. Wednesday, 1,070 people already cast a ballot in this year’s election. Elections Board Director Rebecca Hall said the busiest times so far have been between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Crowds flock to Punkin Chunkin

By Becky Long Publisher   If the long traffic lines on Settawig Road are any indication, the 13th annual weekend-long Punkin Chunkin Festival in Brasstown appears to have exceeded pre-event expectations. Crowd size had been projected to reach around 7,000.

Early voting gets underway Thursday

Early one-stop voting opens Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Clay County Board of Elections Office. During one-stop residents may vote 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the one Saturday it is open, Nov. 5, which is the final day of early voting.
