Clay County School Board approved seeking N.C. building grant

Clay County School Board members have voted to approve seeking a N.C. Needs-Based Grant of $40 million to build a new grades third through eighth school to replace Hayesville Elementary and Hayesville Middle School buildings.

Wide range of non-fiction is new at Moss Library

Moss Memorial Library in Hayesville offers a diverse range of new arrivals each week. The library is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. The latest non-fiction on the library shelves: • Michael Finkel's "The Stranger in the Woods.

Performing arts camp for children to be held in June

Wonderland is coming to town. On Saturday, Feb. 26, Robbie Dernehl will audition children for her super popular Summer Performing Arts Camp. This will be the 14th year of the camp where children get the chance to train and perform in a real working theater.
