Fire on Pine Log

On Saturday, November 20th at 9:40pm Clay County Fire and Rescue was dispatched to 381 Pine Log rd for a structure fire. Upon arrival on scene, fire personal found the residence to be approximately 70 percent involved. At that point, members began fire suppression.

Forest Service Road 422 (Winding Stairs) Closure/Powerline Installation

The Nantahala Ranger District has issued a Special Use Permit to Duke Energy to install an overhead powerline along Forest Service Road 422 (Winding Stairs Road) that will replace the existing cross-country route.
