Survey Shows Thanksgiving Dinner Cost Up 14%

Farm Bureau's 36th annual survey indicates the average cost of this year's classic Thanksgiving feast for 10 is $53.31 or less than $6.00 per person. This is a $6.41 or 14% increase from last year's average of $46.90.

USDA Invests to Improve Equitable Access to Jobs, Business Opportunities, Education, Health Care and Housing for Rural Georgians

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the Department is investing $86 million to improve equitable access to jobs, business opportunities, education, housing and health care for people who live and work in rural areas.

Author and Artist Receive Paul Green Awards

Author Brenda Kay Ledford and Illustrator Doreyl Ammons Cain received the Paul Green Multimedia Awards from North Carolina Society of Historians on November 14. The judges of the contest awarded both author and illustrator for their work in the children's picture book, The Singing Convention.
