Cherokee County firefighter killed in auto accident

By Randy Foster Cherokee Scout   Firefighters around Cherokee County are mourning the loss of one of their own, a volunteer firefighter who was killed in a traffic collision sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Counterfeit bills passed in Clay County

Staff Reports   Counterfeit money has hit the confines of Clay County, at least in the form of a few $100 bills. On Saturday, Jan. 13 the Dollar General Store located on US Highway 64 west in Hayesville was given a counterfeit $100 bill.
