Cast selected for classic musical ‘Oklahoma!’

By Laurel Adams Guest Writer   I have a fabulous cast of 20 for this classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical plus Cameron LeJeune returns as musical director along with Suzanne West and Cody Killian as rehearsal accompanists. This promises to be a very strong production.

• Oak View Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 12-14. Commencement will be held Sunday, June 16 at the Clay County Rec. Park. The church is located at 4370 Downings Creek Rd. Hayesville.

TVA to begin treatment of parrot feather in June

By Marcia Barnes Staff Writer     Although the Tennessee Valley Authority identified invasive non-native parrot feather earlier on the south side of Lake Chatuge, the agency didn’t have the necessary environmental clearance to immediately begin treating public areas.

Cherokee Co. mother eligible for death penalty
