Sellers appointed to N.C. Superior Court

By Robert Seibert Guest Writer   Vietnam Veterans were honored this past Friday at Clay County Veterans Memorial Park. A POW/MIA chair was present as a physical symbol of the thousands of American POW/MIAs still unaccounted for from all wars and conflicts involving the United States of America.

Moore recognized by Clay Lions Club

By Marcia Barnes Staff Writer   The Tennessee Valley Authority, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality recently met with citizens at an open house to discuss local concerns about parrot feather.

Spring fire season is underway in western North Carolina

March officially signals the start of spring wildfire season in western North Carolina. The N.C. Forest Service is urging Clay County residents to practice caution and be safe when burning this spring. North Carolina is ranked third in the nation for the number of human-caused wildfires.

Bell Creek wreck results in fatalities
